BISHAN PARK SEC SCHOOL RULES (PART A)
Appearance
A. Attire & Footwear
Students are to wear the prescribed school uniform to school during term time.
Modifications to the uniform are NOT allowed.
Students are to wear either full school uniform shirt/blouse and pants/ skirt during curriculum time.
Students are to wear either full school uniform or half uniform of CCA/PE/Class T-Shirt with school uniform pants/skirt whenever they come to school during non-curriculum time (e.g. Collect forms/meet friends etc)
Hemlines of skirts must be at the top of the kneecapin the front and at the same level at the back.
Students are to wear white coloured school shoes (i.e. shoes with a properback, laces/Velcro). These shoes are NOT to be ‘highcut’ basketball shoesor slip-on shoes.
White socks up to the ankle must be worn at all times.
Slippers and sandals are not allowed unless on medical grounds. In suchcases, students must submit a medical certificate/letter from parentsto the DM. Once approved/endorsed by DM, students are to carry a copyof the letter with them at all times. These letters are to be shown to anyteacher who requests for them.
B. PE Attire & CCA/House/Class T-Shirt
PE uniform which is PE T-shirts and PE shorts are to be worn only for PElessons. Students should only change into the PE uniform during PE lessonsand back into the full school uniform during recess.
Half-uniform of CCA/PE T-shirt + school pants/skirt is to be worn only forparticipation in the respective CCAs.
Half-uniform of Class T-shirts + school pants/skirts are to be worn onlyfor selected school events.
Class T-shirt design is to be approved by FT and endorsed by DM.
C. Grooming
Dyeing of the hair is NOT allowed.
For boys, hairstyle is to be kept short and neat and of uniform length.
Boys’ hair must not touch the eyebrows, the ears and the collar of thefull school uniform.
Facial Hair – moustache, beards and side-burns – are not allowed unlesssupported by letter from parent to DM asking permission not to shavefor RELIGIOUS reasons.Once approved/endorsed by DM, students are to carry a copy of theletter with them at all times. These letters are to be shown to anyteacher who request for them.
Girls with hair that touch the shoulder must tie up their hair neatly usinghair clips or ribbons that do not draw attention to themselves.
No shoulder-length hair is to be left untied.
Fingernails are to be kept short and clean, without nail polish/henna dye.
Students are not allowed to wear make-up, jewellery or fashionaccessories.
Girls, however, may wear ONE pair of small, plain ear-studs on the ear-lobes. These ear-studs must not draw attention to themselves.
Religious symbols (eg. Amulets and rings) may be worn on a long chainthat must be kept out of sight. Religious wristbands may be worn on the wrists AFTER written permission is given by DM. Copies of endorsed letters to be carried by students at all times. These letters are to be shown to any teacher who request for them.
Ear-sticks are allowed but must be pushed all the way into the piercedhole so that they do not draw attention to themselves.
Tongue studs are NOT allowed
Tattoos and henna drawings are NOT allowed.
Students are not to wear coloured contact lenses or spectacles withframes that draw attention to themselves
